The Outdoor Theatre will be offering an expanded selection of alcoholic and zero proof drinks and delicious food options

The Rock the Park 2024 festival, hosted by the Parksville Beach Festival, and sponsored by Mid Island Co op, promises an electrifying celebration of classic rock and old-time rock 'n' roll. Taking place from August 9th to 11th at Parksville Community Park on Vancouver Island, this music extravaganza features an impressive lineup of tribute bands paying homage to iconic artists.

Some of the artists we will be paying tribute to include: The Rolling Stones, Def Leppard, Shania Twain, The Chicks, Queen, Buddy Holly, Tragically Hip, Bon Jovi, Chicago, and the Beatles.

Rock the Park 2024 promises an electrifying three-day music festival filled with performances by some of the best tribute bands in the business. Starting on Friday, the festival kicks off with Johnny Inappropriate's high-energy dance and rock covers. The afternoon continues with the Spirit of Shania, featuring Vivian Leigh, who delivers a captivating tribute to Shania Twain. The evening heats up with Bad Medicine’s authentic rendition of Bon Jovi's iconic hits, followed by Gaslighter's spirited homage to The Chicks, featuring the talents of Juno Award winner Shannon Saunders.

On Saturday, the festival ramps up with Nautical Disaster’s energetic tribute to The Tragically Hip. Absolute Def Leppard takes the stage next, recreating Def Leppard’s multi-layered harmonies and vibrant stage production. The excitement builds as Sticky Fingers channels the Rolling Stones, with Stuart Turnbull embodying Mick Jagger’s charisma. The Tribute then celebrates the Beatles' legacy with meticulous accuracy, leading into a dazzling performance by Absolute Queen, who deliver an authentic Queen live experience.

Sunday, August 11, continues the musical journey with West Coast Chicago capturing the sound of Chicago's greatest hits. March Hare showcases their versatility with a mix of rock, country, Latin, and disco tunes. Reckless pays homage to Bryan Adams with a powerful tribute that highlights his storied career. The festival concludes with Zack Stevenson's dynamic Buddy Holly tribute, featuring timeless hits, ensuring that Rock the Park 2024 ends on a high note with a celebration of musical legends.

Chairs will be available for rent: $5/day or $10/three-day weekend ~ or you are welcome to bring your own!

Wristbands are available for pickup at the McMillan Arts Centre OR at the gate box office. Please note that Wristbands must be picked up by the purchaser, showing valid identification.

Children 12 and under accompanied by a paid adult do not require wristbands.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE:

The Parksville Beach Festival Society is planning for liquor service provision at this event. Please note that concert goers are not allowed to bring alcohol or any other liquids into the venue and our team will screen for this at the entrance gate. Any prohibited items, including outside liquor, will be confiscated. As free potable water will be available on site attendees may however bring empty water bottles. There will be a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic refreshments available to purchase. We appreciate your cooperation.
